What Causes Bags Under Eyes?

Puffy eyes are quite common especially when you suffer from lack of sleep after a long tiring day. That’s quite common for us at least. Being very straight forward, we would like to say that we just don’t want it to ruin our facial appearance and that’s why we are trying to know what exactly can help us escape this problem. Yeah we know that we get puffy eyes in a few specific circumstances and not always of course. But, why do we get bags under eyes anyway? Got to find out. Well, we did some research. And what we found out during our expedition are -

Excessive water retention can cause bags under eyes. If you have more than required water content in your body, you will notice this condition quite often.

Well, age has definitely something to do in this case. The skin and muscles under your eye loose their elasticity with the natural process of aging. As the skin and muscles become loose, they start to sag and thus give the puffy eyes appearance. This is almost an inevitable cause and explains clearly that why do you get bags under eye after the age of 20. Although you can’t escape this natural phenomenon completely, you can start to take care of your under eye skin a little early so that the problem does not get worse.

While you think you haven’t done anything wrong which can cause bags under eyes, some causes are too generic and can give you this problem without much effort. For example, if you are too fond of eating processed foods, the extra salt content in those ready made foods can increase water retention and give you bags under eyes. We actually don’t like that. Therefore, the best thing to do is find out what can cause fluid retention first and then take the appropriate measures.

When you cry a lot, the veins or tissues surrounding your eyes see a spike in the flow of blood and therefore swell a bit. Hope you understand now why you see puffy eyes or under eye bags when you cry. But that usually doesn’t last long. It will go away as soon as your eyes get relaxed.

Excess work pressure can also give you puffy eyes. That’s because your eyes get too much tired when you work restlessly and the tissues under your eyes get inflamed as a result. You need to take a break and give your eyes some rest in this case. Excess strain on the eyes is generally not good and can also weaken your under eye muscles.

Likewise, you can also notice bags under eyes if you drink too much. Yes, you heard right. Excessive drinking following late night party’s are potent causes of puffy eyes. This type of symptoms should not be the causes of worry unless it seems some pain or blurred vision has accompanied your puffy eyes. If the problem seems to persist for an unnaturally long time, you should not overlook the symptom. You should get your eyes tested and do the needful.
