Raspberry Ketones diet helps reduce unwanted body fat

“I’ve tried every diet there is out there don’t seem to be able to shed the extra pounds off” Does that sound familiar? If so, you probably haven’t tried the raspberry ketone diet. The Raspberry ketones diet helps reduce unwanted body fat. Raspberry ketones have been endorsed by Dr. Oz as the ‘miracle fat burner’.

Raspberry ketones are phenolic compounds that are found in red raspberries as well as cranberries and blackberries. They impart a sweet aromatic smell and are widely used in the cosmetic industry as fragrances as well as the food industry as flavourings. More recently, it has been discovered that raspberry ketones have a role to play in the burning of fats. They exert their action by speeding up fatty acid oxidation and assisting in a reduction in the amount of fat absorbed and deposited in the body.

So how does this miracle fat burner work? The main mechanism action of the raspberry ketones is achieved by their ability to increase a hormone in the body known as adiponectin. Adiponectin is produced by adipose tissue and is responsible for glucose and lipid metabolism in insulin-sensitive tissues. Decreased adiponectin levels are common in obese people leading to further weight gain. Raspberry ketones increase the production of adiponectin and thereby stimulate glucose utilisation and fatty acid oxidation. The end result is decreased fat absorption and deposition.

Additionally, adiponectin has also been shown to have anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory properties. In this was raspberry ketones therefore protect the body from fatty deposits in arteries and thus reduces the risks of heart disease. Raspberry ketones also help reduce low density lipoprotein which is known as bad cholesterol and thus may be a beneficial supplement if you suffer from hyperlipidaemia.

The recommended dosage of raspberry ketone supplements is 100-150mg taken at least 30 minutes prior to breakfast and lunch. Raspberry ketone tablets are taken before meals as they also have an appetite suppressant effect therefore they make you feel fuller. Raspberry ketones can cause restlessness and are therefore not recommended before dinner. The raspberry ketone supplement should ideally be combined with a healthy diet and physical exercise for maximal benefit.

When on the raspberry ketone diet, you will also notice that your hair is healthier and your skin elasticity is improved. These are the additional benefits of taking raspberry ketones. The antioxidant effects of raspberry ketones dissolve free radicals and in doing so slow down the ageing process. The antioxidant effects also prevent a user from developing cancers.

Before starting the raspberry ketone diet, consult your healthcare professional particularly if you suffer from any medical condition or are taking any other medication or supplement. Some patients have experienced palpitations, nausea and restless with raspberry ketone supplements. Due to the increased burning of fats, raspberry ketones may cause hot flashes. Heart disease patients are advised not to take raspberry ketone supplements as are those who are allergic to red raspberries. The effects of raspberry ketones in pregnant and lactating women are not known.
