Treatment for depression and Anxiety disorders

Depression is a clinical illness. It changes the way you behave with others, how you treat yourself, your work and how you generally perceive your life. Anxiety disorders on the other hand are related to some genetic ailment, chemical imbalance or any other physical problem. Anxiety disorders often lead to panic attacks and in long-term depression. An individual suffering from depression may become aloof and lose interest in the concept of living. Both the ailments are treatable and curable, if properly diagnosed and treated.


Yoga: Depression can be treated naturally or with medicines depending upon the severity and type of depression. Yoga is a well-known natural depression reliever. It creates harmony of mind and body. Depression causes the person to become lazy, disinterested and unfocused. Through yoga, the person learns to focus, to channelize his or her energy for positive and productive activities. Yoga also keeps the person healthy and increases appetite and fitness. Depression disorders being psychological disorders, rather than physical diseases, is treated affectively this way.

Psychotherapy: Another well-known treatment, which is often used for more severe cases, is psychotherapy. The person has sessions with a qualified psychologist. During these sessions, the person is made to open up and discuss what is troubling him or her. Many times, the person suffering from depression is all bottled up from the inside and needs a vent to let out all the frustration. Maybe there is no love in life, maybe the business is in trouble; maybe the parents have not given enough freedom. A number of things are talked about during therapy. At times, the therapist may suggest certain activities like painting, yoga, dancing, etc. The idea is to get the person back on his or her feet. Let them have a positive thought and take that forward.

Lack of sleep: Sometimes, something as simple as not getting enough sleep causes depression. The person cannot concentrate, makes mistakes, is yelled at, feels inadequate and this leads to further depression. A good night’s sleep is rejuvenating and keeps the person active to face any challenge that their life has to offer. Lack of sleep can also cause anxiety disorders.

Depression: In its more severe forms may lead to anxiety disorder. Anxiety treatment is medical owing to its nature. Many a timesn its chemical imbalance in the patient that causes anxiety. There are various natural herbs for anxiety. They are many Neuro soothers or muscle relaxers. It is found that many people take these medicines as a form of the drug.

Symptoms of depression

When a person suffers from anxiety disorder he or she becomes restless, there is excessive palpitation, sweating, breathlessness and the entire physical appearance of the individual shows that something is seriously wrong. Anxiety treatment is focused on making the person calm and keeping them that way. Of course the idea is to get rid of medication, however in certain cases, the medicine has to be regularly administered.

Anxiety disorders may lead to violent attacks and can harm the patient as well those around when the attack occurs. Both depression and anxiety disorder are treated with medicines like sleeping pills. It gives the person the much-needed rest. At times depressed individuals do not think anything is wrong and those suffering from anxiety attacks may not realize that they are having one. Therefore, it is up to the one closest to them to identify the symptoms and help cure the problem.
