Lung Cancer and Skin Cancer - Types and the occurrence

Cancer is one of the most violent of diseases that is creating a black scar in the human community. Every year millions of people around the globe are suffering from this disease. Cancer is caused by the rapid multiplication of cells that tend to grow at an abnormal rate and refuse to get divided or die. This leads to a massive growth of cells and slowly leads to the fatal end- that is death. Cancers can occur in any part of the body. One of the most common occurring cancers in the world is lung cancer.  It affects thousands of males and females in America alone. Lung cancers are usually of two types- the primary lung cancer which starts in the lung itself and the secondary lung cancer which starts in some other parts of the body and reaches the lung. The Lung cancer can again be classified into two different types on the basis of its appearance- the small lung cancer and the non-small lung cancer. The non-small lung cancer accounts or the NSLC usually occurs in 80% patients whereas the small lung cancer affects the remaining 20%. On the basis of the medical treatment the non-small lung cancer can further be subdivided into four types. They are Squamous cell carcinoma, Adenocarcinoma, Bronchi alveolar carcinoma and large-cell undifferentiated carcinoma. The Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most common occurring cancers especially in men which occur by the formation of cancerous cells in the bronchial tube lining. Adenocarcinoma is the lung cancer occurring in women and especially to the non-smokers which is formed in the glands that are mucus-producing. Bronchi alveolar carcinoma is a rare type of cancer which gets formed in the air sacs. The large cell undifferentiated carcinoma gets formed in the outer edges or in many cases on the lung’s surface. With the development of medical treatment lung cancer can be cured if detected in the initial stage.

Another common type of cancer is skin cancer. There are three types of skin cancers. They are Squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma. The basal cell carcinoma is one of the most dangerous types of skin cancer which causes due to the harmful ultra violet light, over exposure to sunlight and exposure to radiation. This cancer starts as a dome shaped small bump like a mole. Squamous cell carcinoma is the skin cancer which occurs in our squamous cells. Melanoma is the most dangerous cancer which occurs in the melanocytes which is a pigment which is present in the skin. This is a deadly skin cancer as it spreads at a rapid rate.
